Marilea Moore is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a business owner based in Wilmington, North Carolina. She has been working in the community mental health field since 2007 in a variety of settings, including residential treatment facilities, intensive in-home services, a rape crisis center, and the public-school systems. Marilea earned her master’s degree in Social Work from East Carolina University in 2011 and her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from UNC-Wilmington in 2007.

Earlier this year, Marilea established her practice, From Ashes Counseling, PLLC, which is a trauma therapy practice serving individuals of all ages. This practice is dedicated to maternal mental health, supporting women and men as they navigate the transformative journey of motherhood and fatherhood. It also focuses on mothers who have experienced infertility, fertility treatments, and pregnancy loss. Marilea has completed training in The Matricentric Way with Chelsea Robinson at Mama Modern Village, enhancing her understanding within the trauma-informed, polyvagal framework.

Marilea is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and adopts a holistic approach that encompasses both body and soul. She specializes in the treatment of complex trauma and loss utilizing EMDR and Sandtray Therapy to assist individuals in healing their relationships with themselves and others. Additionally, Marilea is experienced in supporting clients with complex presentations, including dissociation, chronic pain, and other medical issues. Furthermore, she provides mental health therapy support and advocacy for individuals with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), emphasizing family building and navigating treatments.
